A huge fan of old street/people photography and Shirley Baker is one of the best I’ve come across.
Photographing Salford over many years, her works are (I think) an essential part of the history of the area and how we used to live.
Shirley’s book, “Without a trace” is one I picked up recently and is an absolute cracker!
It looks back at the now long gone days, of a much enjoyed life.
It records the communities we used to have and is a priceless insight into the way we were.
For this and her other published works, have a wander over to https://shirleybakerphotography.com/the-street-photographs/
Be warned, if you are into street photography, you’ll be spending some time there looking through the galleries!
